SUMMARY: The Systems Engineer (SE) provides presales support to Enterasys Networks, Inc. customers, partners, and sales team members. The SE is expected to: (1) effectively communicate technical concepts to customer personnel with widely varying levels of technical understanding. (2) Work with the sales team in the development of a comprehensive support plan. (3) Effectively demonstrate and present solutions to customers in order to persuade them to choose Enterasys Networks, Inc. as their principle supplier of business and technical solutions. (4) Prepare and present persuasive arguments to overcome objections from the customer buyers (technical, end user, Value Added Reseller (VAR) partner, -C – level, etc). (5) Perform mid-level post sales support. The SE’s job breakdown is approximately 50% presales activities and 50% post sales activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ability to provide customer presentations at all levels of management
2. Provide a consultative role to customers during solution design
3. Provide project management to support solution deployment
4. Schedule regular customer and VAR visits and communications
5. Participate in strategic account planning sessions
6. Present at trade shows, seminars and oversee internal demonstration facilities, etc.
7. Attend Enterasys Specialist Team, Product Team, Focus Group, or other meetings and present material back in the region in an education method. Establishing and maintaining a lead role in one or more areas
8. Be able to present Enterasys Networks complete product set, NDA (non-disclosure) presentation and articulate Enterasys Networks product vision
9. Complete all required administrative tasks and documentation in support of the sales and management team
10. Perform customer support functions necessary for resolution of all issues effecting a customer network including installations, implementations, software implementations, first response to customer calls with quick effective resolution, troubleshooting of problems that may be caused by customer applications and third party integration, and management and control of difficult customer situations
11. Coordination and communication with other groups, including Inside Sales, Outside Sales, GTAC, and Product Support

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
2. Have CISSP and/or CCIE certification are a big plus
3. Demonstrated skills in direct customer and channel partner support
4. Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution in a network environment
5. Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer interactions in difficult circumstances, controlling customer expectations, resulting in satisfied customers
6. Excellent inter-personal and communications skills
7. Proven team player

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The engineer needs to be capable of carrying one and sometimes two laptops to perform their assigned job function at customer and/or partner sites. The engineer’s position does require some lifting of Enterasys Network products.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The engineer will be required to travel via car, train and plane.

TRAVEL: Required travel usually does not exceed 50% of available work time
